SUMMARY:Pedaling for Parkinson 2022
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nGrab your bicycle helmet and get ready to join Parkinson Canada for the 11th annual Pedaling for Parkinson’s event on September 24th and 25th at the Credit Union Place in Summerside\, PE. \nFounded by Canadians for Canadians\, Pedaling for Parkinson’s invites cyclists to ride towards progress by funding research and raising awareness for Parkinson Canada. Riders of all ages and abilities tour pre-planned routes\, taking in many of the scenic views that Summerside has to offer. \n“It’s not always about living well with Parkinson’s\, but it can be about living better with it\,” says Dan Steele\, chair of the volunteer committee and member of the Parkinson Advisory Council at Parkinson Canada. “Pedaling with Parkinson’s can open the door to freedom in movement and access to the outdoors that feels challenging for many people.” \nSince its inception in 2011\, Pedaling for Parkinson’s has funded 20 research projects through more than $1.9 million in contributions to Parkinson Canada\, in addition to funding support tools\, and advocacy for people living with Parkinson’s. It contributes to awareness as well. \n“Pedaling for Parkinson’s brings together communities not only to raise funds for advances in research and supports for Canadians living with Parkinson’s”\, says Scott McMillan\, Director of Events at Parkinson Canada. “It brings families and friends together to raise awareness of the fastest growing neurological disease in the world.” \nMore than 100\,000 Canadians live with Parkinson’s\, a number expected to increase substantially in the coming years\, with 30 Canadians diagnosed each day. Parkinson Canada funds critical research\, provides information and support\, increases awareness and advocates for improved healthcare outcomes for people living with Parkinson’s across Canada.   \nRegister or donate today: pedalingforparkinson.ca \n\n\n\n\n
